WE MIGHT BE A LITTLE LESS KNOWN THAN DANI ALVES OR LIONEL MESSI, BUT WE HAVE ONLY BEEN AROUND FOR A FRACTION OF THE TIME THAT THEY HAVE. OF COURSE, THIS COMPARISON ISN’T BEING MADE ON THE BASIS THAT WE CAN DRIBBLE AROUND AN ENTIRE MIDFIELD, STEAM THROUGH THE DEFENCE AND TEAR HOLES IN THE BACK OF NETS.

I mean, we can. But this concerns itself more with lifting trophies. Here are the current standings.

In just two short years, we have managed to accrue no less than eleven awards across six award ceremonies. To say it’s a little overwhelming would be an understatement. The buzz in the office the-morning-after-the-night-before never really gets old, and just last week, we lived it all again.

WHAT’S THAT SMELL?

Scooping gold in the Global B2C eCommerce Website of the Year for our work with Perfume Direct at this year’s Global Ecommerce Awards – made it double figures. Praised for our data-driven approach, the judges deemed us a highly skilled team and the submission, very strong.

Perfume Direct have been a fantastic team to work with and we must give credit where credit is due. Their Managing Director, Jonny, put his faith in us early last year. As the campaign succeeded and they’ve grown, he’s continually gifted us more and more faith.

They say speculate to accumulate, and this campaign has been a prime example of just that – paying off, big time. Garnering exceptional increases in leads, sales, revenue and of course, for us, trophies. The Sweet Smell of Success campaign has landed three awards to date.

THE BUZZ CUT

From our very early days, Chaps & Co Barbershop have been a shining example of what working together can achieve. Like a match made in heaven, the work we’ve done with Chaps has never fallen short of exemplary.

Another nod to this came in way of a silver award for the Global COVID-19 Outstanding Response AwardIn no way does second place take away from the achievement. The pandemic hit every industry hard, especially the world of Health and Beauty.

Our campaign focussed on restoring faith in existing customers, rather than pushing for new, and the results paid dividends across all their branches. Recognising the extent of the campaign, the judges noted the “incredible challenges” we’d overcome. They referred to the campaign as “a great example of building a hyper-local campaign and building customer trust”. That’ll do for us.

We were also nominated for our great work with The UAE Events Company, which was a finalist in the Best New Website category. Congrats to the eventual winners and all others who took part in that one.

WHAT’S NEXT?

So, it is from a position of great pride and contentment that we address you today. Eleven trophies. Offices in the UK and Dubai. An ever-growing team of digital marketing wizards (15 and counting) and our second year has only just drawn to a close.

We’ve two more award ceremonies, the MENA and UK Search awards to go in 2021, and we’re there to clean up.

Don’t read too much into the boastfulness of our approach here, we’re just overjoyed. We want to give credit where credit is due and make sure that our team are recognised as being the driving force behind everything we’ve achieved.

This blog post is for them, their family and their friends. Be proud, be loud, be team TIDAL. We do remain incredibly humbled by the successes we’ve seen over the short two years since our incorporation. These awards help us to recognize those successes and are just a little pinch to let us know it’s really happening.

We’d like to offer a huge well done to all the other winners, runners up and participants across all the awards. It’s an incredible community to be a part of, and the fierce competition drives us all to do more.
