WE WALKED INTO THE UK PAID MEDIA AWARDS AS A FIRST-TIME ENTRANT AND WALKED OUT WITH TWO TROPHIES. WE’D SAY WE’RE SURPRISED, BUT THE WORK DIDN’T LEAVE MUCH ROOM FOR DOUBT.
Three campaigns submitted. Three shortlists secured. Two wins on the night. If you’re the kind of person who appreciates a conversion rate, you’re very welcome.
Let’s get into it.

THE WINS
🏆 B2B CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR
TIDAL Digital & British Fossils Campaign: Fossil Fuelled Growth
B2B marketing has a well-earned reputation for being exactly as exciting as it sounds. Safe targeting. Safe creative. Safe reporting that makes everyone feel vaguely good about things without actually moving the business anywhere interesting.
We don’t do safe.
Fossil Fuelled Growth was built from scratch. Complete digital infrastructure. A self-developed measurement framework. Creative designed to stop a scroll, not blend into one. For a niche brand in a category most agencies would have approached with a template and a shrug, we treated it like the category ownership opportunity it was. Turns out it was.
The judges agreed:
“TIDAL delivers a remarkable transformation story. Building complete digital infrastructure from scratch, with a self-developed measurement framework and the instinct to push scroll-stopping creative, shows real craft and commercial maturity.”
The Verdict: Category ownership thinking works just as powerfully in niche B2B markets as it does in crowded consumer ones. The principles don’t change. Only the brief does.
🏆 BEST USE OF AI IN PAID MEDIA
TIDAL Digital & Perfume Direct Campaign: Launch of the Fakefluencers
AI in marketing is everywhere right now. Most of it is noise. A lot of it is a press release waiting to happen. This was neither.
The Fakefluencers didn’t reach for AI because it was having a moment. It reached for AI because the brief demanded a smarter, more scalable approach, and because doing it any other way would have meant compromising on quality, precision, or both. At the heart of it was the Brand Equity Intelligence Framework: not a bolt-on, not a badge, but the strategic foundation the entire campaign was built on. Technology serving strategy. Not the other way around.
The judges put it better than we could:
“A compelling campaign that feels like a genuine glimpse into the future of paid media; strategic, responsible, and creatively intelligent in equal measure. The Brand Equity Intelligence Framework elevates this well beyond standard performance thinking and responsible AI guardrails alongside true innovation make this a template for the new era of paid media.”
A template for the new era of paid media. Their words are a standard we intend to hold ourselves to.
The Verdict: When AI is deployed with genuine strategic intent and the rigour to back it up, the results don’t just perform. They set a standard.
WHY THIS MATTERS
These aren’t trophies for the shelf. They’re proof of something more fundamental.
But that would be missing the point entirely.
These two wins, across B2B strategy and AI in paid media, validate something we’ve built TIDAL around from the beginning: the false choice between brand building and performance marketing is exactly that. False. Fossil-fuelled growth didn’t just drive B2B leads. It built category presence for a brand that had none. The Fakefluencers didn’t just hit performance targets. It proved that AI-driven paid media can be simultaneously strategic, responsible, and creatively significant.
That’s not clever campaigning. That’s what happens when brand thinking and performance execution stop competing and start compounding.
For every brand that’s been told to pick a lane between creative ambition and commercial rigour: here are two trophies that say you don’t have to.

THE RECORD
First UK Paid Media Awards entry. Three shortlists. Two wins:
- Best Use of AI in Paid Media | TIDAL Digital & Perfume Direct
- B2B Campaign of the Year | TIDAL Digital & British Fossils
Not bad for a debut. We’ve already noted the date of next year’s ceremony.
WHAT’S NEXT
More of the same. Not in a rinse-and-repeat way. In a compound growth, category ownership, build-something-that-lasts way.
We have campaigns running across the GCC, UK, and beyond for clients who are done competing on features and ready to own their markets. A team that treats every brief as an opportunity to do something worth entering. And apparently, a growing collection of industry hardware that suggests the approach is working.
We’ll be back at next year’s awards. Not because we need the validation. Because when the work is this good, it’d be a waste not to show up.Ready to build something worth owning? Let’s talk.
